Keep your kids engaged all summer long

We get comfortable in spring, but the long days of summer are fast approaching. With summer comes the question: What to do with the kids while they are out of school? Check out our list of some of the region’s camps that will have kids talking about their summer fun well into the school year.

Oxbow Summer Art Camp
Located along the Napa River, Oxbow offers teens ages 14-16 a full-fledged art experience in a state-of-the-art facility. Two sessions are offered—Serious Art, Serious Fun from June 27-July 13, and More Art, More Fun from July 20-Aug. 6—giving teens the knowledge and tools to expand their artistic horizons by working in various media. ID Tech Camp
For the high-tech kids, check out the UC Davis Computer Camp, which offers a wide range of animation and gaming sessions: Adventures in Gaming, Game and Web Design Hybrid, Video Game Creation, 3D Game Design, Game Molding, Adventures in Comic Creation and Web Design and Flash Animation. Sessions last about a week and range in price from $749-1,169. Internaldrive.com.

Summer Reading
Each of our tri-county library branches will be participating in the California Summer Reading Program: Catch the Reading Bug. Check with each branch for specific schedules. Free. Adventure to Planet Earth
With educational adventure trips to Italy, Alaska, the Big Island of Hawaii and right here in central California, this is a summer camp your middle-school-aged kid will never forget. Gymnastics and crafts
Bouncing gymnasts can take part in one—or all—of the eight themed weeks. Each week kids will get to explore crafts, storytelling and gymnastics, all keeping with that week’s theme.
