The Academy at All Hallows, formerly The Concerts of All Hallows, announces auditions for vocalists to join with the Academy Orchestra and Chorus and the Music in the Mountains Festival Chorus to perform Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. The Kingsley Art Club and the
Nationally acclaimed artist Michael Bishop will serve as the exhibition's juror. Approximately 60 to 75 works will be chosen for display in the exhibition. Cash prizes will be awarded for Best of Show ($3,000), First Prize ($2,000), Second Prize ($1,000), Third Prize ($500) and Honorable Mention ($250). Visitors will have the chance to nominate their favorite work for the People’s Choice award (no cash prize).

Budding classical musicians and vocalists can compete for cash scholarships of up to $3,000 in the fourth annual Young Artists Competition. The competition is open to pianists, instrumentalists and chamber ensemble members enrolled in grades 4-12 during the 2008-09 school year, and vocalists enrolled in grades 9-12. Entry fee: $50. Deadline for entries: Nov. 15, 2008. Live auditions to be held Jan. 10-11, 2009.
